Well from "confusion" we get "confusion" so I have corrected below the just send
out mail to the List, which mail can be deleted, if you have saved the other previously
send mails with the above "Euro conversion utility" or "Re: Euro conversion utility" as
their subject.

Hello Guy,
same best wishes for Xmas+1999 to you (and all) too.

Confused?
Now thats a word to go with computing, and should be getting more attention
from its makers. In this MicroSoft at their website, are making a hell of IMPROVEMENT
over their previously "badly" maintained BBS's and help files(if they were available).

Regarding the Downloader, if you are using a version prior to this upgrade, then:

-you still have to obtain a "new" license(=FREE + incl. the SetUp Key no's) even if
you are like myselve, a registred owner/user of the 'prior' version, to be able to
properly install the new program, same like when upgrading from 6.0 to 6.5, as this
upgrade is a full new program, not a patch.
However, onces installed, you will find out that this "NEW" doesn't mean that
the DL has been fully renewed or got a for the better overhaul to it. It -only- had 3x
minor but vital adjustments made to it : the "Multi Adjust Tool", "YR2000-compliant"
and a parameter function "Express Download" ONLY to be ADDED to it.
-if you were using your current DL program to download prices from sources
other then RTD(Reuters Trend Data), some sources like CompuServe or
DialData or TeleScan etc., you should still download and install this upgrade, but
now into another separate folder, if you should want to have a DL program to
be YR2000 compliant and/or also if you should want to be able to very easely
adjust your "Multi"-securities for the EURO conversion which is due next week.
-if you were using your current DL program to download prices from RTD only,
do install the new upgrade at all times
-if you were not using your current DL to DOWNLOAD prices at all, but did use
the DL's Convert Tool for your daily data files update-sessions, install the new
upgrade by all means, as reasons for doing so are stated above.

Hints for the EURO adjusting when using the DL's MultiSecs Adjusting for Splits Tool:
-Always make a spare set of copies from your precious securities first before doing
  any adjusting, or :
-Collect "identical" securities into an one single separate folder

How:
1. By using the DL's Copy Tool, and with "identical" in this meaning all of the
"currencies"-securities that need to be EURO-adjusted, to be 'spare'-copied to one
single separate folder (eg C:\Temp\Currencies).

2. Then next, do the same for all of the "stock or index with volume"-securities, ofcourse
then to another folder(eg C:\Temp\Volume).

3. And finaly, also for all of the "stock or index without volume"-securities to yet another
separate folder(eg C:\Temp\Novolume).

Later on, when succesfully finished conversioning, you can "copy" them back to their
original folders, where they came from at first, by using the Copy Tool and applying
the YES-button to any of the Copy-Dialogs Windows "overwrite original sec" questions.

This way spare copies are automatically being made while you are "right in the Euro
conversion process". Should you also wish to have a spare set for later reference, then
copy your total set of securities folders to a floppy disk or to a folder C:\Temp\SpareMS.

When using the DL's Multi-Adjust Tool, in its Multi Adjust Dialog Window, it will ask you
to select the folder in which securities' contents need adjusting, then when this folder is
provided(selected) it will present you with the Manual Adjust Dialog Window, previously
already known in the DLv6.x programs as the Manual Adjust Tool's Dialog Window
(DL6.x manual p.96), with the only difference in it now being also made available to
adjust any of the real time data files.

Best wishes
Regards,
Ton Maas
