<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2>For the benefit of WaveTrader users and
MetaStock users: Here are some of the conversations we have seen posted from
Equis about the Year 2000 question. While their marketing stance is to shut out
other data suppliers such as CSI from knowing their format and trying to force
everyone to use their own database, the reality is that this is really not a
threat to current users of non-Reuters data sources and users of older
software.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2></FONT><FONT size=2>As far as we can ascertain
the current Version 6.50 of MetaStock already is programmed for Year 2000
compliance. We ran a test with future data with a 1000101 format ie a 1
for the century much the same as CSI UA does, on MetaStock 6.50 and 6.51.
This worked fine the century change over was hunky dory. The reality is
that only the DownLoader needs to be updated so it can input the number 1 for
the century in front of the YYMMDD. The current DownLoader does not do
it.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT color=#000000 size=2>In reality no data format is all that safe from
reverse engineering. MetaStock format seemed to be a clone of its
competitor Computrac format when it came out.</FONT></DIV>

comes out with an entirely new MetaStock program should there be an issue.

I'm running into the same problem. I love MS but have lots of problems with
data providers. Since upgrading to MS Pro, the problems have gotten worse
as their are so few data providers that provide intraday data for MS. If
anyone knows of a solution, I'd love to hear about it as well.
