Equis:
<BR>after creating a composite using the Quotes-Plus tickers !NQ-A &
!NQ-U, I found that element tickers which have a missing date are indeed
dropped from the composite. !NQ-U is missing 10/28/97 & 7/5/96.
MetaStock will correctly calculate the composite and the missing date is
not shown on the composite chart. For the Relative Strength Comparative
indicator, it is also calculated correctly. Elements which have missing
dates are shown as blank spots and the value is N/A.
<P>With the composites, I had mistakenly come to the conclusion that if
there is a missing date in an element ticker, the calculations thereafter
would be incorrect. After transferring sample data from both tickers
and creating a spreadsheet, I realized my mistake.
<P>However, using Quotes-Plus and composites together is very difficult.
Even if you have exported in MetaStock format and don't use virtual data,
every time there is a data correction you must do many steps to keep from
having to recreate your composites. I hope that Quotes-Plus comes
out with a patch as soon as possible. It took me over an hour and
2 exports to figure out the easiest way to keep my composites (and the
names for the tickers I had typed).

<P>-----Original Message-----
<BR>MetaStock & Quotes-Plus Users:
<BR>This is a warning to MetaStock users who use the Relative
<BR>Strength Comparative (RSC) feature in MetaStock. As you know,
I
<BR>have been notifying Quotes-Plus about missing dates in their
<BR>data. If a single date is missing and you use that ticker in
a
<BR>composite, the calculation for that composite will be incorrect.
<P>This morning, I realized this could also apply to the RSC. I
<BR>called Equis and confirmed this. If a single date is missing
and
<BR>you do a RSC, your figures will probably be incorrect.
<BR>Therefore, I recommend you use the Downloader and verify either
<BR>that the number of records is the same or write down the last
<BR>figures in each ticker. Then manually calculate and compare to
<BR>what shows up in MetaStock.
<P>For some reason, Equis never wrote code for their composites or
<BR>RSC's to make sure the dates were identical. They should write
<BR>code to drop any dates which are missing and simply not place
<BR>them on the chart.</BLOCKQUOTE>
