Sean,
<BR>I copied OHLC data from Dow Jones from 10/29/98 to 11/4/98 from my
QP2 and Yahoo data. I also went to the MetaStock for Java v2.0 web
page: http://www.equis.com/java/ and wrote in the figures.
All of the Equis open and close figures match QP2. Unfortunately,
8 of 10 of the high low data don't match. Out of the 20 data points,
5 of Yahoo's don't match QP2. <B><FONT COLOR="#FF0000">ALL of the
closing data points match.</FONT></B> You can still use most of the
TA indicators, except maybe stochastics. Even then, I don't know
how much your results would change, if at all.
<P>Obviously, someone's making errors. I think if you copied data
from 10 different vendors, you'd get 10 results. <IMG SRC="cid:part1.3643C265.13FD76B3@xxxxxxxx" HEIGHT=16 WIDTH=16 ALIGN=ABSBOTTOM>
If the data vendors are making errors on the Dow, I can only wonder what
kind of errors are in the other stocks/indexes. I don't know what
to say, except that I hope QP2's data is the most accurate. LOL
<P>Anyway, I'm going to continue as though QP2 sends reasonably accurate
data (which they seem to). My main goal is write and test systems
for trading, which is what I'm doing. All I want to do is concentrate
on trading and become a multi-millionaire and that's fine with me
(now where did I leave that Malibu mansion?). <IMG SRC="cid:part2.3643C265.13FD76B3@xxxxxxxx" HEIGHT=16 WIDTH=16 ALIGN=ABSBOTTOM>
<P><B><FONT COLOR="#FF0000">Just one thing, I would like for Equis to fix
their MetaStock v6.5 system tester and stop making excuses. I would
like for them to base their stops on high/low data, not closing figures.
Right now, stops on large moving days are basically the same as the closing
signal in the system. <FONT SIZE=+1>OK EQUIS?!</FONT></FONT></B>
<FONT COLOR="#FF0000">(don't make me go up there)</FONT>
<P>Daniel.

<BR>FYI.....
<BR>do you understand that TC2000 and QP2 use theoretical index data so
open,
<BR>high and close will not match yahoo. close should. Its
definitely annoying
<BR>and I wish they reported the real index data... Its on gary's
list. maybe
<BR>it will be addressed soon...
