Internet Explorer 5.0 beta release
IE 5.0 beta goes public!
Previously distributed only to developers, the latest beta of Internet
Explorer 5.0 is now available to all of us. While Microsoft still notes
that this beta release is intended for advanced users only, all of its
snazzy new features will probably tempt you to give it a try. The
browser's latest tricks promise to make using the Web easier, more
automated, and more flexible.
The new IntelliSense feature, for example, is designed to save you time
by automating routine tasks and simplifying complex ones. It detects
network status, offers flexibility by allowing you to customize your
interface, and even allows you to control content access for small
children. Web authors and developers can also save time writing rich
Web-based applications with the use of DHTML behaviors, XML, and Dynamic
properties. And the improved support for key standards like CSS, DOM, and
XML makes work more efficient and productive for developers and
designers, as well. IT professionals could save some time and money
deploying and managing IE 5.0 through the Internet Explorer
administration Kit (IEAK), which offers customization capabilities,
speed, and integrated management power.
So if you're curious about this next-generation browser, find out if IE
5.0 is everything you've been missing, right here:
