This is a warning to anyone who downloads the PERL Standard Distribution at
http://www.perl.com/CPAN-local/ports/win32/Standard/x86/perl5.00402-bindist04-bc.zip
There are over 2500 files in that ZIP. Why there are so many small files, I don't
know. If you unzip in the base directory, particularly using Norton Utilities, and
don't use the "folder" option, ALL of your directory entries will be pushed off,
erased. This is because only 512 entries are allowed in the base directory.
Because I have a backup disk drive, I can recover from this error. However, if you
don't have some type of major backup scheme, you will be forced to completely
reinstall all of your apps on that partition.
