Greg,
sometime ago I called several universities in southern California to find out if
they offered TA courses. Few of them offered any and those that did offered
elementary courses. The finance departments of universities don't seem to be
aware TA even exits. The established administrations seem to think TA is a form
of speculation or gambling.

As far as I know, the only 2 places which offer TA courses are:
The New York Institute of Finance: http://www.nyif.com
Technical Analysis Group (Affiliated with DOW Jones?):
               http://www.seminarsdowjones.com
               (800)535-7990

I am not aware of any accredited university which offers a degree in TA.
Besides, I really don't see any advantage in taking a course, especially a one
day seminar, over reading one of the excellent TA books which are available (and
cheaper). If you want to learn TA try:
http://www.traderspressbookstores.com/traders-mainstore/
http://www.traderslibrary.com/
http://www.elder.com/
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ats-query-page/002-6658808-4523217

In particular I recommend these 2 books:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0070510423/o/qid=909961562/sr=2-1/002-6658808-4523217

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0786311762/002-6658808-4523217
There are dozens of other titles, but you will find yourself referencing these
two most often. The author mentions MetaStock many times in them. "Martin
Pring on Market Momentum" can be easily applied towards MetaStock. The only
indicators which can't be created are the diffusion indicators. Example: All
stocks in market which are above their 20 day MOV. **Maybe someday Equis will
add this capability? **

Daniel.
