If you are willing to switch data providers, Quotes-Plus2 http://www.qp2.com
automatically divides all stocks by industries. There are about 200. Each industry
group has its own "virtual" directory which you access via their Virtual program in
Metastock. Each industry group also has its own IRL index which is given to you by QP
free. All of the index prices are updated daily and, I believe, their composition is
updated on weekends. With QP2, you not only get inexpensive daily updates, but you
also eliminate the need to purchase the separate IRL program (unless you wish to create
custom indexes).
