Just expand the win 3.1.exe file onto your hard drive, when win 98 searches
for the upgrade it will find it and start the upgrade process.

My guess is he will have to re-install Win95 or Win 3.1 first since the 98
install will look for a previous version of Windows.  I won't take the risk
by doing a format.

A friend of mine has his hard disk so screwed up that he wants to just
format it and put Win98 on as the operating system.  He presently has
Win95.  Can he do this with the Upgrade edition that is sold for about
$90?
