I have two comments to add to this thread, neither are my own.
1. Larry Williams states that data is like a hostage, i.e. if you massage
it, it will tell you anything
you want it to tell you.  
2. Bill Williams states that we do not trade the markets, we trade our
beliefs.

My thoughts, when we trade our beliefs, the data will tell us what we want
to hear (see); when we have no pre-conceived notions and trade the markets
we get what the market gives.
