Lars:
You havent been reading the postings at this listserver for the past few
days, weeks and months, nor did you read this whole message.
Equis has posted messages to this listserver where they said that they
were beta testers and were aware of the problem for about a year. From
Equis' postings and those by people who have spoken with Equis, we can
assume that Equis is working on this problem.
They posted a message to me, that may have also been posted to this
listserver, that said that they made many complaints to microsoft about this
problem(s) which were ignored. Since microsoft didnt correct Win95, Equis
should have made changes in the program to overcome the problems with Win98.
Lars, rest assured that when I state something as a fact, there is a very
high probability that it is so. If it is otherwise, I will indicate my
reasons for an opinion.
Conclusions/opinions can be derived from facts or derived from actions. For
example, if somone says that they are wealthy, but they drive an old
clunker, live in a slum, and have no source of income other than begging on
the streets; we can conclude, with a high probability of being correct,
that they are not in fact wealthy. Similarly with Equis, when they say that
they are "working on the problem", and about a year later nothing has been
fixed; we can assume that they have not worked on the problem for the
current version.
If you have any other questions on this, please email privately.

Guy:
You are of course correct. Its the difference between being proactive or
reactive. Equis were beta testers for Win98. They were aware of the
problem many months ago and did nothing.
