A while ago many members of this group were asking for an additional group mailing capability to discuss special interests. This e-mail being suggests an method of starting an additional one. You could define the intent and purpose of it on this group mailing and invite any on this group who are so inclined to join.

Use this without any recommendation. It does sound like a good service but I have not tried it yet.

? -- Have you ever been stymied by a computer problem and would like to "run it by" a colleague?

? -- Have you ever wondered what "leading-edge" technologies others are implementing and what challenges they have?

? -- Is it possible to talk with another professional on the Internet without being "sold" anything or loaded in some sales database only to get "pelted" with sales people selling you solutions?

Then you don't want to miss this opportunity to participate in www.tipmaster.com, a site designed with YOU in mind. And the best part -- It's FREE!

Hello, my name is David Murphy and I am president of Tecumseh Group, Inc. -- a private and independent Internet company. We have designed www.tipmaster.com forums to allow professionals to talk with each other on leading-edge topics relevant to their work.

Our first forum launched is for TECHNICAL COMPUTER PROFESSIONALS like yourself. It is specifically designed to help professionals who support corporate information systems.

We understand many of you are concerned about "privacy". So, your membership privacy is priority number one. We do not sell, rent or otherwise disclose the identities of our members, nor do we use cookies. We ask only for a valid e-mail address to send your password, and for use in the "Notify Me" feature. The "Notify Me" feature allows the person who posts a question (and anyone else interested in the thread) to be notified when someone has responded to their problem. Unlike newsgroups, member's e-mail addresses are not disclosed in the forums. Members are known only by their "handle".

All sites also have a "No Commerce Guaranty" meaning simply that nothing will ever be bought or sold on a Tecumseh Group, Inc. website (think of it as "Freeware" for ideas). Anyone violating this guarantee in a forum can be "Red Flagged" by another member, and immediate corrective action against the offending member/vendor will be taken.

If you have questions or concerns before joining or forwarding this e-mail to others, please contact me at dmurphy@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx If you wish to talk to me, please include your phone number and best time of the day to reach you.

Don't hesitate to respond to this e-mail today. The best part is there are no membership fees or hidden costs after joining. Your membership is FREE as we are supported by Internet banner advertising. Get your password today and start enjoying the benefits of being "in the know".

Thank you for your participation. We are looking forward to many exciting and informative discussions at www.tipmaster.com.

Regards,
Dave Murphy

The NASDAQ market does not provide for stop/limit order system because it is
an open electronic market. Having your limit order broadcast for the world
to see would not be a good idea. Whereas on the AMEX and NYSE open outcry
auction system, only the exchange specialist can see these orders. That
said, IF your broker makes a market in your OTC stock they will generally
accept stop/limit orders by maintaining them on their own computer systems
until it can be executed at the current bid/ask. So in other words, it's
case by case, hit or miss. That's why I maintain 3 different brokerage
accounts.

Which brings me to those brokers operating on an ECN like DATEK. I'm really
wary of setting stops with them simply because their SOES clients will have
first shot at them. Everytime one is entered into their system I can just
hear "Lunch's up boys & girls!" being shouted by their brokers.

hope this helps,
Rick
