RE: Downloader and Ticker Names

I sent it to Equis support and they gave me a good answer.

They told me to create a header record with the column names in <>
eg. <name>,<ticker>,<open>,<close>,<high>,<low>,<volume>

Using this technique you can not only add name but can also have the data in
any sequence you like.

As a matter of interest I now have a 20 month database built from StockWatch
(ozemail) which I donwloaded for free. Of course I had to process all the
data my self but that only took a few hours. I also get this data from them
daily (for free) via their ftp site (after midnight EST).

All of my database has correct names in it.

Richard
I went into this with Paritech (my data supplier) and with Equis, but no
result. The only data file supplying this for Downloader is for the
USA companies. Or, at the time of my query. This may have changed in
the meantime, but no-one seems to want to do it for ASX. If you or
anyone has a local source of this file for Downloader I'd be glad to
hear about it.
Regard
Michael
