Thanks for the warning about the Zig Zag indicator - I did read the
Metastock manual about 20-20 hindsight, so I'm only using it to 'filter'
market trends and not for a trading system. Which it seems very good at.
As far as your sense of impending doom goes, I think you're right. There is
a feeling that everything could fall apart. Here in Australia we are closer
to the Asian debacle so it is impinging on our economy and our lives in some
very obvious ways. No beef exports, concrete exports nearly nil, reduced
natural gas exports and so on. We have a young 26 year old staying with us
who came out from Germany to a job and arrived to find no job - because of
Asia.
Many of our market indices are down, and some have been heading south for
12 months. They say no-one rings a bell at the top of the market, but I
reckon there are a few tinkles in the air now. Its hard to imagine the
booming economy you seem to be living in, and with all the enthusiasm around
you it must be difficult to believe it can all stop. But from here it seems
entirely possible!
I would enjoy your opportunity to dislike prosperity!
