Hi all....I'll start with an apology if you get this twice. I believe I
addressed the first one to the "old" MetaStock list but I'm not sure of it's
completely defunct.
I'm looking for some formula assistance to achieve the following strategy:
I am trying to plot and back test, in the MetaStock 6.5 System Tester, a
"Down Trend Reversal Strategy." I would like to find out how often the
conditions below occurred during the total time period I have stored for any
stock issue. Then, have the System Tester report on how much profit or loss
would have resulted using MetaStock's assumed $1000 investment.
Assume "at least" six days of consecutive lower lows.
Assume that on the seventh (or greater), day the close is > than yesterdays
close.
Assume that on the following day both the open and close are > than
yesterdays close.
Automatically plot a buy signal.
After "X" days (lets assume 5), automatically plot an exit signal.
For an Up Trend Reversal Strategy, one would reverse the conditions.
I would appreciate any suggestions or opinions. Thank you.
Hans
