hang seng down nearly 1,000 points (10%) on news that peregrine will
not be bailed out by Zurich.
jakarta dumped about $8.0 bio worth of projects on reported imf
request.
s&p futures off about 2.5 points after a pathetic attempt at a bounce.
Nikkei off 240 points on all of the above.
reported buying interest of frf,dem,uk and itl cash bonds ahead of an
expected strong open.
us bonds roughly flat across the curve after a slight dip, but
regained closing levels on the drop in hang seng and s&p.
Sakakibarra "us concerns japans view over weak jpy".
