I use the TRIN in trading the S&P 500 futures. For those not
familiar with this indicator 1.00 is neutral, under 1.00 shows buying strength
and over 1.00 shows selling strength. In a very strong market the TRIN
will get under .50, in a very weak market over 2.00. If I want to
sell short a strong market I will wait until the TRIN rises above the .50
to at least .80 before I even think of shorting. I have found through
expensive learning if you short when the TRIN in in the area of .50 the
market will often go higher.

On the buy side, with the market buying every dip the last few years
I don't have to wait for the TRIN to drop from a high number before buying.
If the market changes and starts to not automatically recover from
drops this will change.

Marianne,
I am not an expert using the DownLoader... yet. You should call Equis tech
support at 801- 265-9998. They should be able to help you. Although I don't
know why, you seem to be entering numbers manually into a MetaStock security
file. I was also going to advise you to use Control Panel> Regional Settings>
Number but I guess you already did that. That should have worked, according
to the Equis press release.
I'm still not sure which background colors you mean. The background color for
the Taskbar, with the Start button on it, is gray. When you click on the
Start button and then go to Programs (with all the program folders, names and
small icons), the background is also gray. I looked in Windows 95 and there
seems to be no way to change the gray color background without doing some
complex things.
There is also the Desktop. The Desktop has all the large Icons and names
below them. The Desktop is entire screen (without the Taskbar). It is the
first thing you see when you start the computer, assuming you don't have any
programs in your StartUp folder. There are 2 ways to change the Desktop
background. I don't recommend the first method.
1. In the Control Panel> Desktop Themes, you can change the way Windows 95
looks. Unfortunately, you must have Microsoft Plus! (which I do) to be able
to do this.
2. This is the simplest way to change the background of the Desktop: Right-
Click on the Desktop background. Choose Properties, then click on the
Appearance tab. You will see 3 overlapping little windows. On the bottom
half of the Appearance tab you see Scheme, Item, Font. The Item should be
Desktop. To the right of Desktop you see the Color box. Click on the Color
box, choose the color you desire, then click on Apply on the bottom right of
the Appearance tab, then click OK. The color of your Desktop has been
changed.
I never bothered to learn how to change the appearance of Windows 95. I'm
glad I tried to help you. If this doesn't work your problem may be more
complicated. Call Microsoft tech support and have them help you.
Good Luck,
Daniel L. Martinez

<< Hello Daniel L. Martinez :-)
Thank you so much for your e-mail and trying to help me :-)
It`s impossible for you to read my thoughts, so I will try to be
more precise. I`m typing in the Downloader. Have gone to the
Control Panel - Regional Settings, hoped it would help. It still
showing 0000 after the point (1.000).
According to the background: I mean the main picture, which is
showing Starts and all the icons (to the programmes).
Using Explorer 4.0 and Win.95.
:-) Best Regards,
Marianne >>
