Joel,
I agree that fundamentals are very important and that the feature you
mentioned would be nice. However, it's a long way from what's needed for a
complete fundamental analysis. I use Telescan Prosearches to scan their
database for stocks with good fundamental and technical characteristics.
Then I download the historical data on stocks that pass that screen plus my
eyeball test into MetaStock. This has the additional advantage of allowing
me to keep a very small MetaStock database (usually under 200 stocks). I
rely on MetaStock for final decisions and timing. To try to get everything
into MetaStock would probably be very expensive plus you would still have
to get the fundamental data from someplace.
