Accidentally pushing the turbo button is a common problem. It's easy to
stop it happening again. All you have to do is unplug the turbo switch from
the motherboard. You don't need to be computer literate, just handy.
Usually it is not too hard to spot the turbo switch and trace the wires back
to the motherboard where you can unplug the connector. If you unplug the
wrong connector just put it back again!. Actually you can unplug ALL the
connectors at the front of the motherboard without doing any serious harm.
You just lose the power light, keylock, hard disk light etc.
The above comments apply specifically to desktop clone machines. Some of the
name brand machines are assembled in odd ways that make a simple unplugging
difficult.
BTW can anyone think of a reason for running a machine in non-turbo mode?
