Jim,
The problem ASND is having is with the 56Kb boards which were designed
to work with _all_ 56Kb modems. Since there is not de facto standard
this is sometimes difficult. ASND recognized a problem with the
interface board and they are working on a fix according to company
sources. Also they are continuing to ship the "boxes" for want of a
better word with 3.4 compatible software which is what the majority of
modems currently are and with the promise that the ne 56Kb boards will
be installed ASAP. Check the Motley Fools for a similar explaination a
few weeks back.
It is a minor glitch, but that is precisely what drove the stock down
from the high 40's to the low 40's over the past few weeks. Not a big
problem and not causing any significant delays in the shipment of the
big ticket items.
DISCLAIMER: I am long the stock and have been accumulating as the
institutions are dumping this "busted" stock. I am also long XYLN in
the same albeit slightly different area of the networking industry.
