Greetings all,
It seems I have inadvertantly write-protected some files. At least
that's what my datavendor's software tells me. The files are all in a
folder call "grains". How can I turn it off, "un" write-protect them?
I have no idea how this has come about. I've done nothing with those
files except include them in layouts.
At the data vendor's suggestion I went to the DOS prompt and tried:
attrib -r \equis\grains\*.*
which enabled the update process to go forward (it would stop whenever
it came to the grains folder). Now, as I try to work with files in the
"grains" folder, I see that the last few days are missing. All other
data in my download is being updated successfully.
I should mention that under \explorer\grains\file\properties the "read
only" box is NOT checked.
Also, for some inexplicable reason, I have been getting a lot of shut
downs due to "illegal operations."
Thanks,
Philip
