Mike and Mike,
As you mentioned the momentum indicator lends itself to trendline
analysis. But the RSI can be outstanding as it often converts an
unrecognisable trend on the stock price into a powerful trend on the RSI
oscillator. Also the pattern formations, particularly triangles, are
fabulous. All these become even more obvious when combined with
divergence.
