Two things you could try:

1.   Once you've opened your first chart in Metastock, opening new stocks is as easy as putting the pointer in the chart and typing the stock code you next want to open.   It comes up selected and all you have to do is press enter.

2.   Preset the zoom default by setting the periods displayed at:File/Open/Options.

Good luck.   It's a good programme and I'm enjoying learning its finer points.  Long way to go yet.
