Trading over US stocks

Hi to the list.

I live in Italy, and I am looking for the easiest way to buy and sell US 
stock traded at NASDAQ as well as NYSE.
I know about the web site of DATEK that allow on line trading: is there 
somebody that can tell me about the efficency and safety to trade over 
internet by this web site? Or in alternative, which is the best way for 
me to trade over US stock from Italy?
Any suggestion/advise would be appreciated.
