Npp Installaiton wizard

I use Vista not windows 7 but I think the following applies as well.

During Installation you can select not to use AppData folder. This way you configuration files will be loaded from Npp installation directory. You can use this option if you need to install npp in a portable disc.
If you choose to do so, UserDefineLang.xml should be placed aslo in the Npp installaton directory (e.g D:\Notepad++).  Otherwise you need to access AppData\Notepad++  ( Click start, run, type (or paste in) %APPDATA%\Notepad++ then click ok) and place there the UserdefineLang.xml file.

hi,

i read some are using this editor for afl files.  I have a question for the users about adding the user defined highlights.

I installed Notepad ++ on a Windows 7, 64 bits machine and find a file lang.xml where all the highlight of various languages are defined. Is this the file where you add the highlight instructions given in the Amibroker Library? Windows 7 will not allow me to write to this file or I have to log on as the Administrator again.

this person saves the instruction in a file called userDefineLang.xml

This I did however after a restart of Notepad it will not recognize it.

Anybody did this on a Windows 7 machine?

thanks, Ed
