May or may not be of help here.

In Dec 2009 I bought a Toshiba Win 7 64 bit notebook and sucessfully installed all my apps, including AB.   No O/S problems, but there was a touchpad problem that caused me to return the system to dealer.

A couple of weeks later I bought a different Model with Win 7 64 bit and re-installed my apps. But a different set of "file access" problems showed up. Even though I use Admin account exclusively, access was denied to some of the more fundamental directories, like "My Documents".

A little research yielded the following info and solution (go figure how Microsoft can screw up so bad).

To enhance security Microsoft has even denied Administrators access to some folders

When you recieve an "Access Denied" msg box on any folder you need to access:

Right click on the folder and navigate to "Properties"
Select "Security" Tab
Click on "Advanced" Button
In the "Permissions" Tab, find out "Type" and "Permission" levels giving problem
Click on "Change Permissions" button and then "Edit" problem UserID to assign access

I defer to TJ as the authority of AB issues, but you may want to use Windows Explorer to verify that your system is allowing admin permission levels for your purposes. Based upon my experience with Win 7 64 bit O/S systems on two different Toshiba notebooks, the behavior was different enough to prevent even TJ from understanding the idiosyncracies of MS Win 7 64 bit behavior on his customers systems.
