Re: [amibroker] Re: Time Stamp of compressed Intraday bars

Dan --
I do not receive real time data, so the following is only my guess, so just give these a try and see:

Try to find out how your data provider stamps the data he is sending you.  You should start the first bar, however your data provider starts it.  So your data is in sinc with his.  For example, all my stamp the first bar as 9:31.  If your provider calls his first bar 0930, then make yours 9:30.

Then fool around with different times for the end time.  Maybe 16:01, ..... 16:10, or?  As long as your first bar is in sync, then all the rest of the bars, when compressed, should have the same number of minutes in them (with the exception of the last bar).

In preferences>Intraday, I have "Align minute bas to regular market hours" and "time of LAST tick inside bar" checked.  That just works for me.  Your settings may have to be different.   Just fool around.  That's what I had to do.

I'm not sure my problem is exactly what you describe-but its close- and I don't see how your solution would solve mine. It is related to the last bar of the day on RT intraday db's. If mkt closes at 4pm and the last trades of regular hours take sometime to be reported (ie NYSE stocks can be reported up to several minutes later I think) how do you capture those trades on the last bar. For a 1 minute db- the last bar starts at 3:59...ends at 4:00. If you choose to end it at 4:01 you have an extra bar in the 1min and every compressed bar you display. If you start the first bar at 9:31 you don't have the daily open price. The only solution I see to my problem is for AB to have some function which allows the 'last bar of the day' to be extended beyond normal bars. Am I missing some other approach?
