Hi TomB,
Unsolicited info for you.
The colored vertical lines you are creating ( with your double clicking)
define a range on a chart which you can zoom in to (View -> Zoom -> Range
or use keyboard shortcut <Alt><Z>). To remove the defined
range, it is not tricky -- you can do a <CTRL><F12> as you
suggest, or just double right click at the right margin of the chart (either in
empty space if charts so set up or on the price values).
BTW, to change the size of the defined range (i.e., where the end bars
of a range are as marked by the green and red vertical lines), just double click
again on a bar and the range will expand or contract to that bar. And to zoom
out again use <Alt><N>.

green arrows on chart ?
Sorry, I read again your question. I misunderstood the
issue.
You click a first time and a vertical black quote line
appears. Then when you clic twice very quickly, a vertical red line and in
another place a vertical green line is displayed. They look like a
putter and it's rather tricky to remove...except with CTRL
F12.
Best regards
