I would like to know if there is a way to write an AFL formula, used as part of a scan or exploration, which can periodically shut down the API data connection and then reconnect it. Or perhaps this can be accomplished using a VBscript or Jscript solution???
I am finding the data feed from IB is truly inferior. However at this time I'm not trading full time and cannot afford a true RT data feed. One thing I've found is if I manually shut down and then reconnect the data connection the resulting backfill cleans up a majority of the errors accumulated in the RT data. Simply calling for a backfill without first shutting down and reconnecting the API data connection does not clean up the garbage.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Pete :-)
