That
is an old
problem that began in the AB 4.X days. Suddenly for no apparent
reason, not
just at the start of TWS, AB would close. (In fact, I can’t rule out
that
it also happened with other data vendors such as IQFeed, QT) The first
couple
of times that was of course quite unsettling. After that you got used
to
it. It didn’t seem to corrupt anything, apart from losing some data and
on
occasion an unsaved AFL. It clearly is an intermittent problem,
which
are the hardest to solve. I spent more time on fault isolation than it
was worth,
but could isolate the problem to AB: Different mice, computers, OS even
UPS all
on occasion showed the same problem. Currently (in AB 5.20-5.26) the
problem is much reduced. The high tech solution I use (of
course
proprietary and copyrighted, not to mention unique and never done by
anyone
else before, in short encompassing all the customary claims made in
this field)
is placing the AB in the taskbar on the left next to the Start button.
Then
after an inadvertent AB close, I then (and again this is proprietary)
move the
cursor over the AB icon, place one of my fingers (index selection not
critical)
on the mouse and press the Left mouse button and click: Like magic AB
starts up
and re-appears. I hope that this explanation is explicit enough:
Otherwise, don’t
hesitate to contact Tomasz.

yes,
see the AT group. In my case I have the TWS already started. Then I
start
AB and direct it to the IB database. AB starts backfilling data and
suddenly
disappears. But it does not happen always. Some days it does other days
all is
ok. When I restart AB after it has disappeared all is ok. It never
happens
twice in a row during 1 computer session.
One
thing I notice what I did not notice before (prior to 5.29 beta) is
that when I
start AB I see first the charts appear as white blank charts (a
fraction of a
second). Then it is replaced with the charts I saved previously.

I start Ami and then TWS. Ami starts fine and
once it starts I start TWS. When TWS starts Ami closes once in a while
and I
did not issue an exit command. I watch the monitor waiting for TWS to
start
back filling and when TWS starts Ami exits. This has been happening
since I
installed Beta 5.29. I currently have Beta 5.29 - 2 installed and it
has
happened on every 5.20 beta. It did not happen on 5.20.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks,
Barry
