Re: [amibroker] Quotes Plus with Local data storage enabled?

So, is there any reason to not do so, other than using up another 1% of my HD space?

Also, does it make any sense to put large AB data bases each in their own partition so they do not get too fragmented?

Thank you.

Hello,

Local storage *always* gives speed improvement because AmiBroker's own database is faster than anything else.

Subject: [amibroker] Quotes Plus with Local data storage enabled?

The Users Guide suggests disabling Local data storage for Quotes Plus.  And I believe that TJ has said in the past that there was no speed improvement to be had by enabling local data storage for QP.

However, I was wondering if by enabling local data storage, I would not loose older data for de-listed companies.  It would be nice to have the old GM in the data base.  Too late for me for GM; but maybe BAC tomorrow?  I know that this would take up more disk space -- so what.

Are there any other reasons why I should not enable local storage for QP?
If I do opt for local, can I just click the enabled box for my already configured QP, or should I create a new data base?

Thanks for listening and any comments.
