I'm sorry, but I don't know what you guys are smoking - AB has a ton of indicators included, provides some of the simplest tools for creating indicators (try using eSignal!), and has a large, library and user support group. There are only a handful of times that I haven't found an indicator available.
As for paying for PatternExplorer - meaning why isn't it included - I would say that given the price of AB - the best bargain in stock analysis software imho - why WOULDN'T you pay for it?
