Herman, that's something relatively easy to achieve.
Here is a piece of code to add a new ticker to database.
(It has no effect if the ticker already exists)
AB = CreateObject("Broker.Application");
Stocks_ = AB.Stocks;
Stock_ = Stocks_.Add(symol);
// AddToComposite won't work if datasource is not local
Stock_.DataSource = 1;
