Hi Tony, and all --
I think I can answer this one.
Workshop One is on Day One. Day one is an introduction to AmiBroker. It covers use of the graphical user interface and automatic analysis. It will be very hands on -- ten minute lectures and explanations followed by 10 to 20 minute periods for the attendees to do what I talked about.
Workshop Two is on Days Two and Three. Day Two will be about 70 or 80% lecture, 20 or 30% hands on. Day Three will be about half and half. The two days together are devoted to the design, testing, and validation of trading systems. Attendees will run examples I provide and create and run their own systems.
Workshop Three is on Days Four and Five. There will be a lot of new material covered in lecture -- some I have not seen in print anywhere -- particularly about evaluating trading systems and estimating their future performance. There will be about 25% hands on exercises over the two days. The topics covered include trading portfolios, risk assessment, position sizing, AmiBroker programming techniques, debugging, custom backtester, and more on validation.
All of the workshops are intended to be educational. You will see some trading systems, perhaps some you have not seen before, but they are examples, not direct paths to wealth.
Each workshop assumes that attendees have the skills and knowledge from the earlier workshops. Proficient users of AmiBroker would not need Workshop One. Those who fully understand objective functions, in-sample, out-of-sample, and walk forward would not need Workshop Two. Everyone who plans to see their trading account grow needs Workshop Three -- the discussion of risk and position sizing is really eye-opening.
Thanks, Howard

Robert,
The workshops sound very comprehensive.
How much time would attendees have to apply Howard's teaching to their own trading ideas and systems?

Tony
