[amibroker] Can AmiBroker do these?

Hi, I'm currently evaluating AB for my needs - playing with limited demo version for a second day. Seems very promising, but programming model takes time to grasp... Before I commit to plunging deeper I'd like to know if a couple of certain things are doable. I'd hugely appreciate if someone enlightened me as it might save me a great deal of time.

I'm interested in pair trading stocks. I figured out how to plot 2 overlapped stock charts as well as their spread and ratio with stdev "bands" in separate panes. However, I'm having difficulty supplying symbol names. One can be easily selected from droplist in the toolbar or symbols tab, but other... has to be hardcoded into AFL? I want to be able to quickly analyse many pairs, and having to edit formulas each time is a huge drag... Is AFL aware of the currently selected watchlist - if yes, I could pick up the other symbol name from there. Any other approaches? What am I missing?

The other thing - is it possible to plot the stock news (such as earnings, dividends etc) directly on the chart the way yahoo and google finance do it? Even the mere fact of the news on a particular day would be of great help - one can research further from there.

Many thanks!
