What I and I'm sure many others do is to have several databases - I use Yahoo! for EOD, IQ Feed for real time and my broker - Interactive Brokers real time - each with its own database.
You can run multiple instances of AB and easily switch from one to the other.
Finally, you should know that you can update your Yahoo EOD database using the "Current" quote server and it will fill the last daily bar with OHLC of data current up to 15-20 minutes ago. If you run this download - say 15 minutes before the close you can see your signals for tomorrow before the close today. This works quite well getting a jump on the EOD crowd.
