Title: Managing many layouts-formulas
I would be interested in knowing how you manage your layouts. Let me tell you what i do and what my problems are.
I have about 50 different layouts. Each layout is essentially a "Project". Each Project has 20 Chart tabs, each Tab contains a different part (phase, revision, module, include file, etc) of the project. This gives me instant access to any part of the project and allows me to revert back to an earlier version with a single mouse-click when work doesn't pan out as planned. This is how I implemented my personal "revision control system". This is something I need because I work on many projects at the same time.
The problem is that the large number of active formulas that must be managed by AmiBroker requires frequent Indicator Management. It is now reaching the point where I have to perform this time-consuming task several times a week. Of course deleting lots of Layouts-Formulas would solve the problem however this would prevent my from switching projects easily and would make it more difficult to access earlier work. I have backup copies of all formulas in a database however there is a great difference between click-access to a formula for editing and display, and copying formulas from a DB, apply them, install required modules, etc.
An ideal solution would be the ability to archive Layouts so that they will be excluded from Indicator Management but would still be available for quick retrieval inside AmiBroker.
How do you manage you work?
best rereads,
herman
