Herman,
I had significant problems with the
editor and editing very large files. I could not undo ever without a
crash, and the cursor and what was shown on the widow did not match the
actual location in the file. I think it was a memory management problem
due to the very large file size. I could edit small files in the same
instance, and everything worked fine.
I finally broke up my large file into
about 20 include files. That seemed to make all the problems go away.

Dennis, I
thought of this but when I click repeatedly on my chart the vertical
cursor-line moves quickly without perceptible delays. I figured that this
meant my indicator is not holding up any process. However the chart timing
shows as about 12 milliseconds. I also run formulas when I edit them - never
thought of that...

Herman,
This happens to me all the time when
the formula is also running (if it is a somewhat slow one). It seems
that an AFL formula has to get to the end of a cycle before the editor
window focus is active for editing --that is just a guess on my part. Since
I am always running the formula when editing the formula (just the way I
work to catch typos quickly), this AB feature has been my constant
companion for years. I never thought twice about it. ;)

The last few
days (I never had this before) I often find my mouse unresponsive in the
formula editor window. I can click and click until finally (3-4 seconds) my
cursor moves and/or I can select text again. It appears that this is due to
some AB process using up my computer resources however my task manager
shows lots of reserve and i can't figure out what causes it. I am not
running any unusual computing intensive processes. My mouse works fine
outside of AB.
I am running
the IBc with TWS open and my Internet connection is OK. I changed mouse but
this makes no difference.
Can this be
due to failure to erase formulas when performing Indicator maintenance? I
hate to delete formulas... even if they are not to be in actual use.
Would anyone
have any idea what can cause this problem?
Thanks,
herman
