No need for counting.
The STATUS BAR (bottom of AmiBroker window)
displays number of bars used in real time as you move the
mouse.
Also cycle tool already works on BARS.
If you need to work on CALENDAR days instead, just go to
View menu and select "Pad non trading
days"
(you need to use most recent beta for this
feature)

AB's cycle tool does not support being able to
specify a specific cycle length although that is a often found as a standard
feature in charting programs. You could suggest that this be included in
future updates in the feedback section. In the meantime, you have
to write code for what you want - there might be some in
the library or knowledge base that would provide a starting
point.

Blair, I appreciate the help, but that isn't what I
need. Suppose, I want to set the cycle for 233 bars, how do you do
that without counting out 233 bars? A very useful approach would be
to have a "bars" selection instead of just dates. This feature is
in the Automatic Analysis, imagine how hard that tool would be to use if
you always had to know the dates you wanted to test over.

Larry,
If you are talking about
the cycle tool in the tool bar, you just drag it to whatever size you
want.
Click on the tool, Click AND HOLD the mouse button down on the
bar you want to start on, and DRAG out to the distance you want - Watch
the lower left of the screen to see how many bars your cycle length
is...
Hope this
helps.
