Not sure what the value of an old vote is. New people like myself are always joining. I think mailing lists are an ancient artifact of the internet. They are unreliable and very convoluted to manage (by manage I mean as a recipient of all the mail).

By unreliable I mean I've sent at least 3 emails to this thread in the past 48 hours that didn't bounce and didn't post. That just never happens with a web BB. Reliability is all there and a failed post is obvious to the poster immediately.

For whatever my vote counts for, I would suggest using a web BB with an email feature for those that still want that kind of delivery system. The more choices the better, that will grow the community. I know that a lot of people would never use a discussion list, they just can't afford the email traffic cluttering up their box. I am usually of that mind, but I needed to get some questions answered quickly for AmiBroker so I didn't have much choice.
