If you're interested in overclocking but don't want to involve yourself in it then seek out a custom builder that can build you an overclocked machine that will also be reliable.

Overclocking has reached the point where significant improvement may be had with relatively simple steps in a reasonably short time. Only the most outrageous overclocks require the time investment and technological knowhow.

A quick Google for i7 overclock gives reviews on what's involved, including a reference to the following (published by manufacturer, so heavily slanted towards their product):
