Subject: Re[2]: [amibroker] using
Networked Data bases
I am using Premium Data, they also allow two computers. I use one main
setup and a laptop. it would be nice to have my laptop contain the DB (ready
for travel) while the main computer would access the data through my
LAN.
Premium data cover several markets and has extensive data categories, it
takes me awhile to update all of them. Also running the tools to update
Watchlists and categories takes some time to run. It would be nice to have all
that work happen to the side of me, on my laptop. Freeing up my main
setup.
I don't know enough to know if this is possible... and whether one could
run AmiBroker on the remote (non-data) computer, accessing data, while the
other updates the data base.
TIA for any comments or ideas anyone may have wrt a good setup.

Herman,
I beleive it depends on the data source.
Quottes plus allows 2 computers simuoultaneously.
Others do not.

using Networked Data bases
When using more than one computer is it possible to
access data from on other computers?
It would seem a good idea to have just one "Data
Computer" ...
If you have a good arrangement could you share your
method?
TIA,
