In the old days, Norton was big, slow, and interfered with other programs.  So we began using AVG Free.  A few months ago, AVG began getting seriously in the way of other programs.  After a bit of research, Norton 2009 seemed to be best reviewed.  We have switched to Norton Internet Security on all of our machines, and like it much better.

Fry's has it on sale for $9.99 for a package that can be installed for three users.  (I bought too soon.)
