Thank you Tomasz, that explains one problem :-)

However, I want to automatically Export summary/stock .csv (not html) reports with a custom name to a custom folder. I will be using the data in other systems.

I can't seem to get this going...neither in afl nor with com objects.

Is this possible? If so is an example available anywhere?

Many thanks,

herman

Herman,

Report() function is obsolete, ONLY FOR OLD backtester, provided for backward compatiblity

with version 4.4 or earlier. With new backtester it does NOT do anything.

New backtester generates reports AUTOMATICALLY, without calling Report function.

And reports ALWAYS land into Reports folder.

The name is auto-generated using formula name (SetFormulaName) function

and DATE AND TIME of the backtest. You can't change that.

I wrote too soon... Using the test below its not working for me.

I simply want to Export the AA .csv report to a custom folder under a custom name.

I Still get the msg "Detailed Report not available. Please check settings / report tab". How does this

function with the "GenerateReport" Option and the AA.Report function? How do these two functions

interact with AA Settings?

Thanks again!

herman

SetOption( "Generatereport", 2 ); // Does this relate to html or csv reports?

Short = Cover = 0;

Buy = Cross( MACD(), Signal() );

Sell = Cross( Signal(), MACD() );

AB = CreateObject( "Broker.Application" );

AA = AB.Analysis;

AA.Report( "C:\Program Files\AmiBroker\Reports\test.rpt" ); // generate report

//AA.Report( "C:\\Program Files\\AmiBroker\\Reports\\test.rpt" ); // generate report

Problem solved; I emptied the report folder and it started to work again.

I am using AB 5.16.0 and for some reason I can no longer can get detailed BT reports when I do Backtests. They are turned ON in AA Settings.

When trying to display a report I get the msg "Detailed Report not available. Please check settings / report tab"

Any ideas why this happens?

Herman
