Perhaps this is an opportunity for TJ/AmiBroker to set enhance the
volume structure within AmiBroker, and provide backwards compatibility
for those plugins that can't be bothered to update, but provide a
proper "v5.5+" method of using a more suitable volume format.
This seems to be the approach of many APIs - provide a deprecated
method for compatibility but any new plugins should use the new method.
And we can get rid of this annoying workarounds which play havoc with
position sizing/liquidity algorithms.
