Re 2 instances - I honestly don't know, but AB uses some sort of internal 
table to keep track of which ID's are in use and which are available. I 
would ask official support channel because it could be that 2 simultaneous 
instances do not know what each other is doing in that regard.

Re templates - I haven't used them in a while, my guess would be that 
templates work like layouts ( identical chart ID's ) but you could quickly 
save a couple and then check the ID's to confirm.
