I'm sort of retired from the UKB but since you are stranded ........
I haven't used the new version but I just tried to upload a text file
and an Excel file and I have to concur with you - I hit a dead end
and couldn't upload them (I have attached text files and spreadsheets
to posts in the past - I have only been stopped when trying to upload
a CSV file and also very large files - there is a size limit).
I can't see anyway around it.
