Fortunatelly we run spamassasin so 99.5% of spam gets trapped on server level.

You did not say what kind of error you were getting (if any) when trying to send to support.

One caveat: messages with "Test" as a subject won't be delivered (silently), because
they are filtered out at server level. This is so because very popular Windows virus
is sending such e-mails.
