[amibroker] Re: quote download?

Louis,

Gee, you keep me on my toes, mate!

I haven't even seen that one before.

It is the report of a 4040 error from Yahoo - in other words - the
symbol you tried to download doesn't exist on their server.

AQ uses the Download folder as a staging pad in the download process
so file are stored there for a while.

After a successful download you can see some typical examples in
there.

It is actually a very good help with AB to learn that stuff because
it is part of its core processes (AQ data import uses ASCII format,
so if you learn ASCII you will understand how AQ/AB uses the text
file with the ASCII import format file to manage the imports.

After an AQ import if you haven't received data into the Download
file that is a sign that there is a computer related issue (firewall
or OS errors - stuff like that).

If you search this forum under "AmiQuote firewall" you can see a
couple of discussions about firewall issues that sometimes come up.

However in your case it is no big deal - just plain old fashioned
asking the grocer for something they didn't have on the shelf.
