Using strFind locate the 2008 and then compare the character after the "8" to see if it's less than a space. That should id that weird character.  You'll have to use the strMid to isolate the char.

Subject: [amibroker] help with string manipluation code

During my daily update I imported a corupted data file that was missing the comma seperator.  The result is that the import created thousands of tickers like (SPX Index []2/29/2008[]1364.).  The red highlighted brackets represent a square box symbol in the ticker that cant be typed into this message.  I tried running the database cleanup wizzard but for some reason the wizzard can identify these symbols.  I beleive its because of the box symbol.

Is their a way to parse the name() as a string and identify the box symbol with an exploration?  If their is I could move all of the corupted symbols into a watchlist and then delete them.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Jeremy
